Get Creative with Mango Peels
Whether you are in winter or hot, if you like to enjoy delicious fruit then you will go for mango. This tropical fruit and its pulp is the base of dozens of juices; eating them raw is also a delight. However, there are thousands of people who would not take advantage of their peel and do not eat them directly. Are there other ways to use them?
As with the onion rind or the apple peel, throwing away the thin protective layer of these foods would be a bad idea. As with the mango, its orange peel stands out for its delicious flavor: it has great nutritional value, being a source of fiber, protein, vitamin C, and antioxidants that your body will know how to take advantage of. However, some people would not like it well eat directly from these shells; you get to waste a lot of them in the trash can. How to take advantage of them? The trick is to use them in different preparations.
What to do with Mango Peels?
Mango peel snacks: You can have the mango rind as delicious little ‘chips’ if you bake them properly. Try to put them in the oven at 70°C until they are crispy.
Use the peels in sponge cakes: It is possible to use the rest of the mango to give flavor and essence to a great sponge cake. Try adding pieces of the peel to the blender and follow the common preparation method for this type of dessert.
Make mango jam: We are going to blend the peel of 5 medium and ripe mangoes, along with 250 grams of sugar, a cup of water, and a spoonful of cloves. You should take the result of this mixture to a saucepan over medium heat until it takes the classic shape of jam. Then, you just have to send it to refrigerate.
