2 Chainz Scammed into Investing in Failed Weed Dispensary

An investment company representing rapper 2 Chainz reportedly claims that he was scammed into investing over $1 million in a failed weed dispensary.

According to a report by SFGate published on August 9, Antimatter Holdings, an investment company representing 2 Chainz, is suing a Los Angeles dispensary shop named Pineapple Express Hollywood. The lawsuit alleges the shop failed to honor the terms of an agreement made with the rapper. In 2021, 2 Chainz invested $1.5 million in the dispensary after being introduced to it by Snoop Dogg’s tour manager, Damien Roderick.

The dispensary owners initially promised that the store would open by April 2021, but it didn’t open until March 2022. The investment terms guaranteed 2 Chainz a monthly dividend and rights to recall 110% of his funds within 30 days’ notice. However, neither 2 Chainz nor Antimatter Holdings ever received any funds back when they attempted to withdraw their investment. The lawsuit also reveals that in December 2022, 2 Chainz personally texted Vincent Zadeh, the co-founder of Pineapple Express Hollywood, inquiring about the profits. Zadeh allegedly responded that they were no longer honoring the agreement.

XXL has reached out to 2 Chainz’s team for comment.

Despite this recent business mishap, 2 Chainz has successfully invested in various other ventures. The Atlanta rapper owns multiple Escobar restaurants, including one in downtown Atlanta that he opened in 2016. He also owns a nearby nail shop and a vegan pizza restaurant called Pizza Verdura Sincera, which opened in May 2024. Additionally, 2 Chainz, also known as Tity Boi, purchased a strip club in Atlanta called Candy Land in September 2023. He even secured a part ownership stake in the NBA G-league team College Park Skyhawks in May 2019.
