Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, and Bruce Willis have been regarded as the action heroes of the 80s and 90s. However, despite their initial rivalry, they are now bound by an unbreakable bond that shows genuine concern for one another. Not even a dispute over four million dollars could break their friendship.
When Willis was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, Schwarzenegger expressed his admiration for him, saying that he is a kind man and a great star who will always be remembered as such. Similarly, Stallone said he was praying for Willis and his family during this difficult time.
Initially, there was some rivalry between the three actors. When Willis entered the scene as an action hero in the late ’80s, Schwarzenegger and Stallone were at the height of their careers and didn’t go easy on him. However, their competition didn’t last long, and they became investors and sponsors of the Planet Hollywood restaurant chain together.
Over the years, they have shared moments at award ceremonies, premieres, and events. However, in 2013, Willis reportedly became “greedy” during the production of the third Expendables movie. Stallone announced on Twitter that Willis was dropped from the project because of his greediness and laziness. Nevertheless, Stallone and Schwarzenegger have since expressed their concern for Willis’s current situation.
Despite their initial competition and occasional disagreements, Schwarzenegger, Stallone, and Willis have demonstrated that coexisting peacefully within the same genre and developing bonds of genuine friendship are possible. And in light of Willis’s recent diagnosis, they have shown that their bond is still as strong as ever.
