Age of Empires 4 is getting ready to celebrate its open beta. Relic Entertainment will allow the community try an advance of what awaits us at the end of next October. Therefore, in this piece we summarize what you must take into account to be able to immerse yourself in it.
Age of Empires 4 Open Beta: Everything You Need to Know
The technical test, as they call it, will result between September 17 and 20 at 7:00 p.m. CEST. During this period you will be able to access without connection restrictions. To access it, you simply have to go to its corresponding tab according to the PC store you select.
If you choose to play it in Steam, click on this link which will direct you to the profile of the game on the Valve platform. Under the reservations you will see a tab that says “request access”, with the name “join Age of Empires IV Technical Stress Test”. When it is enabled you will be able to download it.
In the case of Microsoft Store the procedure is slightly different. You must first access having logged in with your Xbox profile. Once done, download the Xbox Insider Hub app. Inside it, complete the steps to access the beta programs; one box will mark Age of Empires IV.
Beta content will focus on “the multiplayer experience”, as they themselves point out on their website. However, there are some single-player elements, such as the tutorial and the custom meeting point against artificial intelligence. Relic insists that given the nature of the test, you choose to play against other human opponents. There will be four civilizations available: the English, the Chinese, the Holy Roman Empire and the Abbasid Dynasty, playable on five different maps.
For its part, Age of Empires 4 is scheduled to launch next October 28 on PC via Microsoft Store and Steam; available from day one on Xbox Game Pass.
