The eruption of the Cumbre Vieja volcano, located on La Palma and which erupted last Sunday, September 19, has caused the suspension of the first flights to the Spanish island by several airlines.
“We canceled night flights with La Palma. The evolution of the ash cloud forces us to change our programming. It is a decision due to force majeure to guarantee safety. The rest of the flights in the Archipelago are developing normally”, he reported the Spanish company Binter.

Shortly after, the same company reported the cancellation of trips to the island of La Gomera.
For their part, Iberia and Canaryfly also reported on Twitter the cancellation of their flights due to the volcano eruption.
“If you are at the airport, go to the information desk. The temporary suspension of the operation affects, for the moment, only flights to and from La Palma. The rest of the schedule continues to develop normally,” he explained Canaryfly.
More information, shortly.
