A TikTok sensation has gone viral by sharing his remarkable 17-month journey from Alaska to Argentina by bike. Liam Garnet was only 17 years old when he embarked on this epic adventure in August of 2021. Leaving Alaska’s northernmost point armed with $8,000, camping gear, and his trusty bicycle, the young adventurer set out to achieve what seemed like an impossible feat.

Although he had previously traveled from his hometown Los Angeles to San Francisco, nothing could have prepared him for the 15,000-mile journey he was about to undertake. While his mother was worried about his safety, he convinced her that he could handle it. However, his father wasn’t informed until he was about to embark on his journey, and by then, it was too late to turn back.

Liam shared updates of his journey on his TikTok account, documenting the hardships and setbacks he encountered along the way. After a successful start to his journey, he entered Mexico through Baja California. Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse when his bike broke down. He was eventually able to hitch a ride to the next town to have it repaired.

From La Paz, he took a ferry to Sinaloa and continued his journey to Durango and then down to the center of Mexico. He spent three months cycling through Guanajuato, Michoac√°n, Puebla, and Oaxaca. Sadly, he and his partner Logan were robbed while sleeping on the beach in Puerto Escondido.

Despite this setback, they reported the robbery to the local police and continued on their journey through Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Ecuador, Peru, and Chile. However, in Colombia, Liam suffered a severe accident that hospitalized him for a month. Despite all the challenges, he was determined to fulfill his goal and eventually arrived in the city of Ushuaia, in southern Argentina, on January 10th.

This remarkable adventure proves that with determination and dedication, anything is possible, and there’s nothing quite like exploring the world on two wheels. Liam’s TikTok followers have been inspired and awed by his journey, and it’s a testament to the power of social media in sharing incredible stories like his with audiences worldwide.
