The United States Passport Crisis

The United States is experiencing a passport crisis. Waiting times to obtain or renew one have been extended due to the fact that during the Covid-19 pandemic those who processed passports were reassigned to other areas and their places have not been fully covered. The delays have caused displeasure among applicants, since some of them have even lost money because the date of their trip arrives and they do not have a passport.

Faced with this situation, the State Department announced American Passport Fairs throughout the country to cover some of the demand. We recommend “We are organizing special passport fairs in the United States to help you and your family apply for your passport. Most events are for first-time applicants and children using Form DS-11 to apply. If you are eligible to renew your passport, you must renew it by mail. New events will be added every week at this link.
