This Friday, December 3, one of the most anticipated seasons of the year arrives. After months Netflix will release the second part of the latest edition of The Money Heist. The story, created by Álex Pina and Esther Martínez Lobato, was a worldwide phenomenon since its arrival on the platform and now the final end of the series is causing the same sensation as if it were the first premiere. In just five episodes it will finally be known what will happen to the most feared gang of robbers in Spain.
And, despite the fact that there are still a few days to go before the big premiere, the truth is that the filming ended several months ago. However, the actors of The Money Heist and the creators are still promoting the series and will, at least, until the final moment to say goodbye. That is why, a few hours ago, the most important members of this team appeared at a press conference.
Directed and coordinated by Netflix, in this press conference in which, from Spoiler, we were present, were: Úrsula Corberó, Álvaro Morte, Pedro Alonso, Miguel Herrán, Jaime Lorente, Esther Acebo, Enrique Arce, Darko Peric, Hovik Keuchkerian, Luca Peros, Belén Cuesta, Najwa Nimri, Esther Martínez Lobato, Álex Pina and Jesús Colmenar. This group of actors and creators of fiction answered various questions talking about things to come, their experience being part of this global phenomenon and they opened the doors to possible spin-offs.
However, at first, the creators of The Money Heist They started talking about how they feel about volume 2 that is about to be released. “It feels a little different because, somehow, we are ending a journey that has been a very long one full of adventure and emotionality. Characters who have been on the brink of emotions for a long time“Snapped Martínez Lobato who also assured:”there are many nods to how the series began, how the characters began”.
For his part, Álex Pina stressed that “It is the most organic season because it has a very complete solidity where the characters begin and end.”. In addition, the architect of this Spanish success made it clear that “when they get to the last chapter people are going to say: ‘but how are you going to get out of this‘”. Although, who also spoke of the end was Najwa Nimri, the interpreter of Inspector Sierra: “It seems to me that it was difficult to solve that shed and I was sincerely delighted. I loved my character too”, He said with a laugh and avoiding giving spoilers before the withering gaze of the director, Jesús Colmenar.
Of course, Jaime Lorente, the interpreter of the much adored Denver, was one of those who was moved and assured that “whatever the end, nobody will like it because nobody likes the end of things”. But, it should be noted that the actor said these words before having clarified that He has not seen the last five episodes yet and that he prefers to wait until he feels like a spectator. So much so that an answer of this type and like the one given by his colleagues, opened the question to the possibility of a spin off or an alternate work on The Money Heist.
“The end of La Casa de Papel is the end of La Casa de Papel. If your question is if the door was left open to a season six, seven, etc., the answer is no. It is the end of the series, with this the story ends. Of other types of alternative projects, there I can not speak”Replied the director Jesús Colmenar. Likewise, Pina declared: “5 years ago we were writing the pilot for La Casa de Papel and it has been an incredible journey. And regarding if we are going to have something else, that is something that we are thinking, but that is only in the air or circling”.
And, while the creators define whether there is the possibility of doing alternate work on the series, the actors continue to be excited about the series’ grand finale. “It has been a long time of enjoyment. The Professor has given me many things, very beautiful and of all of them, what I keep is the work that I have been able to enjoy and learn. At the end of the day, what you stay with the most is field work. Between all of us we have been able to carry out something that has been seen and people have liked”, Álvaro Morte commented on his farewell as The Professor.
Then, to close, who spoke of his end, which was especially tragic, was Úrsula Corberó. “I’m super happy with that end in Tokyo, partly I also wanted it to happen that way. We had a lot of chat with Alex. And I think Tokyo was one of the most iconic characters from the beginning. What Tokyo says about living many lives is very beautiful and I had always had the feeling that it had been that way from the beginning“, said.
