With 40 years and more than 22 seasons as a professional footballer, Andrés D´Alessandro has not yet retired. After finishing his contract with Nacional de Montevideo, he has almost everything arranged to return to the Porto Alegre International, one of the clubs that he carries in his heart.
D’Alessandro is in Porto Alegre and is negotiating with the club to put on the red shirt that he wore for thirteen years without interruption between 2008 and 2020.
This year, the experienced offensive midfielder played in Nacional (24 games and 1 goal) and won the Uruguayan Super Cup.

The intention of D´Alessandro and Inter is to sign for six months to play the Gaucho championship, that is, the Rio Grande do Sul State tournament, and then retire in mid-2022.
D’Alessandro’s career marked by River and Inter
He began soccer in River and debuted in 2000 at the age of 19. He won five titles in his two spells at the Millionaire with 122 games and 24 goals. His return was in the 2016-2017 season at the hands of Marcelo Gallardo.
At Inter he lived his most glorious stage, winning the Copa Sudamericana and the Copa Libertadores.
His farewell with tears from Inter
On December 29, 2020, D’Alessandro said goodbye to Inter with a very emotional press conference in which he cried several times.
“I have been maturing the decision, I couldn’t wait for the end of the contract to say it. Inter will continue, giant as it is, and D’Ale he will continue his life as an athlete. My idea is to keep playing, I don’t know for how long, but my history here at the club is closed and not a cycle, as many spoke, “he said first, and then added: “I always thought that my retirement was going to be at Inter or at River.
