In this year, we will see the return of many great series that had to wait a long time to launch new seasons. That is the case of Atlanta, which had to endure up to four years to bring its new batch of chapters… but hey, the important thing is that the wait is practically over.
The new episodes of the show starring Donald Glover (a.k.a Childish Gambino) will premiere at the end of this month of March and to warm up engines, we have a new trailer that looks quite funny. Now, the plot will be set in Europe and things are going to get interesting.
The cast of ‘Atlanta’ travels to Europe in the new trailer of the series
Finally! After a huge time – but seriously – of waiting, the third season of Atlanta is about to premiere. Already a few months ago, some details and other advances of what we would see in the new season had been revealed, especially the wink that Europe would be the main stage in this new installment
According to the official synopsis given by FX, the third season “finds Earn (Donald Glover), Alfred ‘Paper Boi’ Miles (Brian Tyree Henry), Darius (LaKeith Stanfield), and Vanessa (Zazie Beetz) in the middle of a successful European tour, as the group navigates their new environment as strangers and struggles to adapt to the new hit they had aspired to.”
In the trailer, we can see some funny and unusual situations while the protagonists walk through the streets of the so-called ‘Old Continent’. No doubt they will go through a lot of strange experiences to fit into a different culture and that shows in dialogues such as when Glover’s character tells Paper Boi if he is not worried about what they will think in the streets since he is dressing in quite expensive clothes.
Here we leave you the new trailer released this Friday, March 4. The third season of Atlanta will arrive on the 24th of this month on FX and can be seen in the United States through Hulu. As far as Latin America arrives, you can watch the previous seasons on Netflix.
An uncomfortable racist situation in filming
Although the third season of Atlanta is finally about to launch, recently an unfortunate event that the cast suffered while filming in London was announced. According to Stephen Glover, one of the show’s writers, there was a night when a group of people approached the staff and made racial advances.
“This group of people is approaching. And maybe one of them realizes that Donald is there or recognizes him… one of them stops and starts asking if we know a place where they can stop by for a drink. One of the women said the writers of “Atlanta” would likely break into a bar because “you all carry hammers [a slang term for guns],” Glover said in statements picked up by Variety.
“All the writers in the series are black, so he’s making a reference to everyone having guns and we can go into that place, which we don’t know… He got to a point where we didn’t understand the insinuation, he became specific and said, ‘You guys are black, you’ve gone to jail and you do things like that.’… What a bad experience there in England.
