Battlefield 2042 has received some changes based on community feedback. Its public beta, showing a build “a few months” old, allowed EA DICE to create an interactive testing ground. From the study they review the most important changes and what we can expect from November 19th en PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One y PC.

The player experience in Orbital will change from what was seen in the test. The number of tanks will increase from 4 to 8 on the next generation consoles and PC. The elevators in the launch building have been fixed “to see less strange behavior from the doors.” In the rest of the game you can also expect an indicator of nearby grenades and a redesign of the entry and exit animations to make them shorter.

One of the elements that they put special emphasis on is movement. TOtime we can jump over moving objects; sliding, on the other hand, adds a bit more penalty. The team cautions that the bots “are not designed to replace players,” but rather serve as a friendly entry for newbies. Seeing so many on the beta servers was a bug, as it was common for games with a higher number of non-human enemies to be assigned.

Some interface and equipment functions were disabled. Increasing the full map or squad orders screen is something that is already contemplated, the ingame compass has even been placed so that it is always on screen. “We recognized that numerous improvements in the user interface, identifying friend from foe and communication between the team were not found in the open beta,” explains the Swedish study.

Equipment can be customized before respawning; in fact, the accessory reset on the AK-24 was a bug that has already been fixed. On the screen shown by DICE we can see a multitude of accessories (up to six barrels and 10 sights for the basic M5A3 assault rifle). Accessory slots within the game can be customized to always have the ones you want on hand. On the other hand, smooth transitions have been included at the beginning and end of the game. It will not be as abrupt as seen in the beta.
