EA has officially announced that Battlefield 2042 release date pushed back to November 19, 2021, which means that we will have to wait practically one more month for the original date of October 22.

In a release, DICE CEO Oskar Gabrielson, cites ongoing complications with the COVID-19 pandemic as the main reason. “Given the scale and scope of the game, we expected our teams to be back in our studios as we got closer to launch. Given that current conditions do not allow that to happen safely, and with all the hard work teams are doing from home, we believe it is important to take the extra time to fulfill the vision of Battlefield 2042 for our players..”

Battlefield 2042 is the first game in the EA and DICE franchise since Battlefield V in 2018.

Unlike other large launches initially planned for 2021, Battlefield 2042 will also be released this year and will not affect EA’s financial projections for fiscal year 2022.

EA has also communicated that An information update on the Battlefield 2042 Open Beta will be announced later this month.

Battlefield 2042 will be set in the near future and will include distinctive features of the series, such as large-scale battles and huge open maps. In addition, it will lead us to an environmental catastrophe, so players will face natural disasters such as tornadoes that will also appear on the map and disrupt the games.

One of the main novelties of Battlefield 2042 is a mode called Portal that will allow players to create custom games using elements taken directly from Battlefield 2042, Battlefield 1942, Battlefield Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 3.
