Beyoncé Pays Tribute to Tina Turner in Paris Concert
Beyoncé paid tribute to the late music legend, Tina Turner, during her concert in Paris at the Stade de France. Tina Turner recently passed away at the age of 83, but Beyoncé ensured her legacy was celebrated during her concert by eulogizing her and asking the crowd to “scream so she can feel her love.”
The “Crazy in Love” hitmaker expressed her gratitude to Tina Turner for paving the way for her as an artist. Beyoncé commented, “If you’re a fan of me, you’re a fan of Tina Turner because I wouldn’t be on this stage without Tina Turner. I feel so blessed that I was allowed to witness her brilliance. Thank you for your loyalty.”
Beyoncé described Tina Turner as her “beloved queen” on her website after the news of her passing was revealed. She cited songs like “Private Dancer” as one of her biggest inspirations. Beyoncé wrote, “You are strength and resilience; you are the epitome of power and passion. We are all so lucky to have witnessed her kindness and her beautiful spirit that she will remain forever. Thank you for all you’ve done.”
The two stars had previously performed a duet of “Proud Mary” at the Grammy Awards in 2008, and Beyoncé paid tribute to Tina Turner at her Kennedy Center honors ceremony in 2005. Despite having legions of fans around the world, Tina Turner’s team confirmed that there will be a private funeral for the icon, which close friends and family will attend. Her team said Tina died of “natural causes,” but no further details have been released.
