Brad Pitt Suffers from a Rare Neurological Disorder called ‘Prosopagnosia’

Brad Pitt, known for his roles in countless blockbuster films, including ‘The Fight Club’ and ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’, has revealed that he suffers from prosopagnosia, also called “facial blindness”, a rare disorder characterized by the inability to recognize people’s faces.

In a recent interview with GQ magazine, the Hollywood legend acknowledged the impact the condition has had on her confidence, particularly when it comes to social contexts.

Pitt revealed that he has a hard time remembering new people or recognizing their faces, and worries that people will believe he is “distant, inaccessible or self-absorbed.”

In fact, prosopagnosia makes you feel ashamed, and although you have never been officially diagnosed, you are sure you have it. “No one believes me!” he says when talking about his condition, adding that he wants to “meet someone else” with whom to share his experience.

This isn’t the first time Pitt has insisted he has prosopagnosia.” A lot of people hate me because they think I’m disrespecting them,” he told Esquire in 2013. “Every once in a while, someone gives me context and I say, ‘Thank you for helping me.’ But there are people who hate me because they think I’m disrespecting them.”

“There was a year where I just said, this year I’m going to face it and ask people where we met, but it all got worse. People were even more offended and interpreted my problem as a gesture of vanity or selfishness. But it’s a mystery to me, I just can’t remember a face,” Pitt said.
