In Berea, Ohio, Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett has revealed he is managing an injury that affects both of his feet. Despite the discomfort, he intends to play through it, although he may need a procedure later.
“I don’t feel 100 percent, but I feel good enough to go out there and make a difference,” Garrett stated on Friday.
Recognized as the NFL’s reigning Defensive Player of the Year, Garrett missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday but made his return on Friday. He was not designated with any game status ahead of the Browns’ upcoming match against the New York Giants. Browns coach Kevin Stefanski noted that Garrett “looked like himself” during practice.
Last week, Garrett appeared on the injury report with a foot issue but still contributed significantly in the Browns’ victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars, recording a notable strip sack. During the game, he rested for a few plays but later mentioned his commitment to continue playing despite the injury.
Garrett explained, “We talk about surgery after the season, but that’s something that we’ll discuss further down the line. The issue itself is something I’ll probably have to manage for as long as I continue playing. It’s all about managing it and pushing through.”
He elaborated that the injury affects both feet and requires ongoing pain management.
When questioned about whether the injury might continue to affect him throughout the season, Garrett expressed hope for improvement: “I hope not. I’m optimistic that in the coming weeks it will improve to the point where it’s not a consistent bother.”
So far this season, Garrett has recorded two sacks, each leading to forced fumbles. His performance, even while dealing with physical challenges, exemplifies his resilience and determination on the field.
