Xavier Veilhan, the acclaimed French sculptor, was in charge of the staging. Geometric drawings, sculptures, hoops, and cockades created a universe that dances on the limbo between fantasy and the real… All inspired by the world fairs of the 20s and artists such as Sonia and Robert Delaunay.
“This is a summer collection, so it’s very fresh and includes a lot of embroideries,” explains Chanel creative director Virginie Viard. “I was a little inspired by the 20s: feathers, fringes… The feminine side of the constructivists, the girl inside.”
In this way, we find elements as characteristic as the eternal tweed of the fashion house, present in summer suits formed by skirts and jackets. The wraparound trouser suits; chiffon and satin dresses and beaded vests elevated the collection to a higher level of glamour and elegance.
