China rebukes WHO for ‘irresponsible’ comments on its zero COVID policy

China’s Foreign Ministry has asked World Health Organization (WHO) director Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus to avoid making “irresponsible” comments after he said China’s zero-COVID policy would not it was sustainable.

At a press conference in Beijing on Wednesday, Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian defended China’s measures in fighting the pandemic, saying China hopes the WHO director-general can see the policies of China’s COVID objectively.
