The only way out of the crisis in US-China relations triggered by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan is for the United States to immediately rectify its mistakes. a senior Chinese embassy official in Washington said on Friday.

Jing Quan, from the Chinese Embassy in the United States, referred to the White House’s protest to the Chinese ambassador over Beijing’s military actions since Pelosi’s visit and said that it is the United States that is threatening peace and stability.

“It is the US side that is giving trouble,” he told reporters during the briefing.

“The only way out of this crisis is for the US side to take immediate action to rectify its mistakes and remove the serious impact of Pelosi’s visit.”

He warned against escalating actions that jeopardize the long-standing US “One China” policy, saying Washington should “avoid pushing China-US relations down the dangerous path of conflict and confrontation.”
