Indonesian low-cost carrier TransNusa has become the first foreign carrier to acquire the first regional airliner developed by China, the ARJ21, Yicai economic news portal reported today.

The aircraft delivered has 95 economy class seats and has a range of between 2,225 and 3,700 kilometers with full load.

Since its commercialization in 2016, about a hundred ARJ21s have been delivered to Chinese airlines, which have used it to connect more than 300 routes and transport some 5.6 million passengers.

Its creator, the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (Comac), also developed the C919, which is expected to start operating in April next year and with which the company intends to compete directly with the American Boeing 737 and the European Airbus A320.
