Tomorrow the draw for the Christmas Lottery 2021 will be held, in which millions of euros will be distributed. And since last year, some of the prizes can be collected using the Bizum application. But how does the whole process work?
First thing: What is Bizum
Bizum, as defined by CaixaBank is about “a system compatible with the rest of the Spanish banking entities that connects the bank accounts of the clients linked to their mobile phone number (It is not necessary to know any IBAN code to send the money) ”.
This service allows make immediate payments between individuals just by having a mobile number. Without pre-loads, safely and whatever the bank with which the client operates. The Bizum system is not an independent app, but depending on the entity, it can be found within its general mobile application or within the wallet (bank’s digital portfolio) or electronic banking.
The second thing: How to collect a prize through Bizum by QR
Therefore, Bizum allows you to quickly collect the amount of a prize-winning tenth, although it has a maximum limit of 2,000 euros. If the prize you have been awarded is higher, then you will have to go to the Bank to collect it. If the prize ranges from 20 to 2,000 euros, then you can collect it by Bizum in the Lottery administration.
To be able to make bet payments and receive prizes with Bizum, You will have to generate the QR Bizum in your banking application or in the Bizum App, a code that allows you to identify yourself as a user when starting the operation. The QR Bizum is a dynamic code, that is, a different code is generated for each operation and it is only valid for one operation. In addition, it will have a validity period, which will never exceed 15 minutes, after which it will expire and you will have to generate another.
It works like this:
- Go to the Lottery administration: You have to check the validity of the prize, which must be equal to or less than € 2,000 to be collected by Bizum
- Generate the QR Bizum: Access Bizum from your bank’s app and generate your Bizum QR.
- Show your QR Bizum: The person in charge will scan the Bizum QR code.
- Confirm the operationn: Validate the payment and you’re done. If you are going to receive an award, there is no need for validation.
Banking entities attached to the payment of prizes
Although there are more than 30 banks that have the option of using Bizum in Spain, not all of them have the Christmas Lottery prize payment service. In fact there are only 12 entities that we list below:
