Though the fourth season was just recently aired, it is not surprising that there is not much clear information concerning season 5 yet. That does not mean there is nothing to look at, and we have gathered every single piece of season 5 information right here. We have collected everything regarding the official release of the next set of episodes to the cast information and what the future could hold beyond the fifth installment. Here is everything we know so far regarding the upcoming season.

Release Schedule of Fifth Installment of Cobra Kai

Each new season of Cobra Kai has launched on or around New Year’s Day since its arrival on Netflix. It is feasible that Season 5 may be delayed in the same way, although there is reason to presume it will be distributed much sooner.

According to showrunner Jon Hurwitz, Cobra Kai Season 5 shooting was completed on December 19. The program still has to be edited, and reshoots may be necessary. But even with that, fresh episodes are anticipated to arrive in the summer of 2022.

Cast Information for Fifth Installment of Cobra Kai

Cobra Kai’s cast has been rising continuously since the series premiered on YouTube in 2018, with new faces and familiar stars from the Karate Kid films joining the cast all the way.

As per DigitalSpy, Ralph Macchio and William Zabka will reprise their legendary roles as Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence. In contrast, other actors from the franchise’s past, such as Thomas Ian Griffith as Terry Silver and Martin Kove as John Kreese, are also likely to return.

Meanwhile, Yuji Okumoto, who played Chozen Toguchi for the first time in the Karate Kid (second part) season five conclusion, is expected to return as the legendary character.

Other recurring casts are:

  • Tanner Buchanan in the role of Robby
  • Peyton List in the role of Tory
  • Joe Seo in the role of Kyler
  • Mary Mouser in the role of Samantha LaRusso
  • Jacob Bertrand in the role of Hawk
  • Gianni DeCenzo in the role of Demetri

The storyline of the Fifth Season of Cobra Kai

The fourth installment was a significant change for Cobra Kai, and season 5 will likely deal with the aftermath. For one point, Eagle Fang and Miyagi-Do’s combined powers were insufficient to defeat Cobra Kai, who won both the ladies’ side of the competition and the overall award. Following the massive triumph, Terry Silver has promised to establish more dojos all across the Valley, rendering hitting back against the Cobra Kais even more difficult in the next season.

And there will almost certainly be a battle. Despite the agreement to stop teaching karate if Miyagi-Do or Eagle Fang do not win the competition, Daniel LaRusso is committed to bringing Cobra Kai back. He is enlisting Chozen’s assistance this time. Chozen handed on a secret (and extremely efficient) Miyagi-Do skill to Daniel when they met last time, so we may anticipate the erstwhile enemy to have more tactics in his sleeve in the next season. Silver and the Cobra Kais are going to face a significant challenge as a result of the alliance.

For the time being, John Kreese is out of the scene. Silver organized the arrest of his old friend Kreese at the conclusion of the season by accusing Kreese of the horrific assault while delivering Stingray himself. It is anyone’s speculation how Kreese will perform this season now when he seems to be imprisoned. He has been tough to defeat in the past, and this is why we should not rule him out immediately. It will be interesting to watch how he manages being deceived by Silver and Silver’s threats on his former top student Johnny Lawrence.

In the meantime, Johnny is on the lookout for Miguel Diaz. That will very certainly lead both protagonists to Mexico, where Miguel is looking for his father. However, a major stumbling block in Johnny’s quest to make peace with Miguel is that he appears to be mending fences with his son Robby Keene. It is quite impossible for Robby to join Johnny on his vacation south of the border. However, it is a distinct possibility, and it would bring all three characters one step closer to putting their differences aside once and for all.

The pupils of Cobra Kai, Miyagi-Do, and Eagle Fang have a less certain destiny. Daniel has no plans to close his dojo, so the Miyagi-Do pupils may expect to continue improving their karate talents. Cobra Kai is also growing. However, it seems that some pupils may be leaving in season 5. Tory Nichols, the All Valley champion, overheard a discussion that revealed the competition was manipulated in Cobra Kai’s favor, and she may be considering resigning from the dojo as well, particularly since she and Amanda LaRusso became closer over the period.

Knowing that Johnny will be in Mexico for at least some portion of the season, Eagle Fang is expected to continue learning at Miyagi-Do. It is unclear if any of the youngsters will respect their agreement with Cobra Kai and stop studying karate totally.

There is not a teaser yet, but Netflix has a tendency to tease new shows throughout the year. So, we may expect a new trailer in the near future.

Is This The Last Season Of Cobra Kai?

Season 6 has yet to be announced. However, creators of the series Jon Hurwitz, Josh Heald, and Hayden Schlossberg have said that there is more story to tell.

Heald informed Collider, “It’s changed at times, but it also hasn’t.” He further adds that they still have a strategy in place for the endgame. They are currently working on season 6 of the show, and according to him, it has been great to introduce new characters and themes and occasionally let them take the lead.

Hurwitz continued that they had never indicated how many seasons there would be from the start. They have always thought of it as at least six seasons. It is unclear if Cobra Kai will be renewed beyond season 5, but with the fourth installment’s clear success, the future appears bright.
