Corina Mrazek, 22, from Tenerife, has been selected as the new representative of Spain in Miss World 2024. She received the crown from her predecessor, Paula Pérez, who is a doctor from Valencia.
Corina, who is 1.76 cm tall, is a cabin crew member in addition to holding a degree in tourist assistance. Charlotte Harrison, the representative of the Canary Islands, was chosen as the first bridesmaid, and María Arcos, the representative of Granada, was chosen as the second bridesmaid. Also among the Top 6 finalists were representatives from Barcelona, Las Palmas, and Tarragona.
The Top 12 included representatives from Cáceres, Girona, Madrid, Málaga, Melilla, and Valladolid. The municipality of Los Realejos, in the north of the island of Tenerife, has been selected to elect the next Spanish representative for Miss World to coincide with the municipality’s May Fiestas.
The Importance of the Miss World Contest
Cres del Olmo directed the gala, and the organization Nuestra Belleza España was in charge. The organization is also the national director of the Miss World brand in Spain. The motto of Miss World, “Beauty with a Purpose,” emphasizes that the competition values a set of qualities and values, including a social cause that each candidate supports in their province.
It should be noted that there is no swimsuit parade at the national level, as there hasn’t been for many years internationally. Miss World is the oldest pageant still in force and has more than seventy years of history. Carmen Cervera, Bárbara Rey, Lorena Bernal, Carla Barber, and Mireia Lalaguna are among the most prominent Miss World contestants from Spain.
Dreams Do Come True
As Miss World Spain 2022, Paula Pérez said, “I entered the pageant because it represents everything that makes me feel good about myself.” Mister International Spain 2022, Daniel Lorente, also remarked, “Winning this contest is proof that dreams can come true.”
Overall, the Miss World contest emphasizes not only physical beauty but also diversity, intelligence, and a dedication to social causes. Corina Mrazek’s selection as the new Miss World Spain 2023 indicates that she embodies these values and will represent Spain well on the international stage.
