Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez announced on Monday through their social networks the death of one of the twins they were waiting for. The news spread like wildfire and thousands turned to show their support for the couple in one of the most painful moments of their lives.
After days of silence, the Manchester United striker wanted to thank last Thursday all the affection received through a family photo uploaded to Instagram, where his newborn daughter also appeared. Now, the Portuguese has wanted to pay tribute to his son who died in the match against Arsenal played today at the Emirates Stadium in London.

In the 7th minute of the match, the first played by Ronaldo since the tragedy, the Arsenal fans gave a huge ovation in memory of the baby to bring the heat from the stands before the hard trance that the family is going through. A tribute that was already paid at Anfield during Mancherster’s match against Liverpool last Tuesday, which did not have the presence of Cristiano but all that wave of support came to him, a gesture of “respect” and “compassion” that “he will never forget”, as he told in his social networks.

But the most emotional moment came after the goal. Manchester were losing 2-0 when the striker finished off a ball thrown into the area. At that moment, his celebration was directed towards the sky: after scoring a goal, the footballer proceeded to jump with a serious gesture and pointed upwards in memory of the deceased offspring.
Despite medical attempts during Georgina’s delivery on April 18, only the girl got ahead and nothing could be done to save the twin’s life. The Portuguese star and her partner acknowledged being “devastated by the loss” and begged for privacy. “Baby, you are our angel. We will always love you. Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez”, ended the statement signed by both.
