Cybepunk 2077 was going to feature a standalone multiplayer game, but the difficult launch of the original title has changed CD Projekt RED’s plans. The cancellation of this product does not bury the goal of building multiplayer elements in your products. In fact, the Poles said they had focused their attention “on offering multiplayer “ in all its sagas “someday.” During an investor meeting, the CEO of the company, Adam Kiciński, highlighted that idea.
The Witcher and Cyberpunk sagas will receive multiplayer elements, but they will do so progressively, step by step. “We are planning to add multiplayer functionality in the future for both brands, including Cyberpunk, but little by little,” he said. “We will not reveal which of them will be the first in having multiplayer elements, although our first attempt will be something we can learn from and then implement more. Step by step we want to open the doors of multiplayer and gradually incorporate multiplayer activities ”.
Free updates for the new generation
Both Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt have been designed as long-term products, so they will continue to sell them for times to come. One of the points that CD Projekt RED has highlighted is that thanks to the advancement of technology, have the possibility of applying improvements, something that will be reflected in the new generation versions of these games. The manager has reaffirmed his commitment to releasing these updates for free for those who treasure the game on previous generation machines.
