Adam Kiciński, CEO of CD Projekt Red, stated during a WSE Innovation Day conference in Warsaw, Poland, that Cyberpunk 2077 is on “a satisfactory level”. After having applied a multitude of updates during the last six months and achieving the return of the sale of the title to the PS Store, the manager is satisfied.
“In this sense, we have reached a satisfactory level,” begins by saying Kiciński when questioned about the stability and performance of Cyberpunk 2077 at the moment. “At the same time, we have been working on improvements for the overall quality, which we are also quite happy about. Of course, we have also eliminated bugs and visual glitches, and we will continue to do so ”, he emphasizes. “Over time, we will also make improvements to the overall game systems that players have reported,” he says.
Cyberpunk 2077 Returns to PS Store; put your performance to the test
These statements coincide in time with the return of Cyberpunk 2077 to the PS4 and PS5 digital store, although both Sony and CD Projekt RED itself recommend not playing it on standard PS4 models, but on PS4 Pro and PS5. On the other hand, Microsoft will reestablish the standard refund policy, thus ending an extraordinary measure when accepting returns from dissatisfied customers.
The performance analyzes, after applying the recent patch 1.23, are not so optimistic. Digital Foundry evidence an improvement on standard PS4, but at the cost of great sacrifices when it comes to vehicles and pedestrians on screen. On PlayStation 4, the 30 FPS is now more stable, although it sometimes drops to around 20 or 25 FPS. On Xbox One, for its part, it is around 22 or 25 FPS, according to other analyzes.
CD Projekt RED will continue to work on patches and updates for Cyberpunk 2077 while they finish the update development next gen of the video game, planned for the second half of 2021. PS5 and Xbox Series X | S users will be able to update for free if they already have their copy. In the absence of knowing how the performance of the post-launch title has impacted, away from the pre-order campaigns, in 2020 alone they managed to sell 13.7 million units worldwide.
