Last Thursday CD Projekt unexpectedly updated the future content roadmap for the controversial Cyberpunk 2077, which recently saw its next gen update get delayed. This roadmap marks the year 2022 as the key to the future of the title, since it will receive, in addition to said update, others with more content, patches to correct errors and, supposedly, some of the expansions scheduled for the game.

We say supposedly because even though these big expansions planned for Cyberpunk 2077, the size of Hearts of Stone and Blood & Wine in The Witcher 3, nothing seems to indicate that they have been canceled at all, even with the problems that the game has caused since the day of its launch. According to this new roadmap, the last content that will arrive in this year 2021 will be patch 1.31, which will solve several bugs that hinder progress in certain missions, in addition to optimizing the use of GPU memory on PS4.

The content, a year later

Although CD Projekt promised to continue providing Cyberpunk 2077 with free content during 2021, technical failures, especially in last generation consoles, PS4 and Xbox One, have made the Polish study has had to focus a large part of its efforts on solving these. In fact, the only free additional content that has arrived in these almost 12 months of the game on the market arrived in August, along with patch 1.30, and it was an alternate appearance for Johnny Silverhand, two jackets for V, the protagonist, and a new vehicle. All of the free DLC, initially planned to start rolling out earlier this year, would include “a good bunch of cool stuff that will inject even more life into the world of the dark future,” according to CD Projekt.

The Poles have not given a specific reason for the delay of these contents, but it was to be expected knowing that, as we said before, the version for PS5 and Xbox Series will wait until at least the month of Januaryas they marked the first quarter as the release window for this update. This delay was due to “recommendations provided by people who are monitoring the development.”
