Cannes Festival 2021: Stars and Films that Shone on the Red Carpet
The 76th edition of the prestigious Cannes Film Festival continues to be a magnet for show business stars and noteworthy films. Prominent figures like Juliette Binoche, Nanni Moretti, and Damián Szifron had their moment on the red carpet.
Argentine director, Damián Szifron, is one of the jury members tasked with awarding the coveted Palme d’Or. The filmmaker and his partner, actress and playwright María Marull, graced the avant-premiere of Moretti’s film, Il Sol Dell’Avvenire, in an elegant and stylish manner.
Lily-Rose Depp, the young actress who stars in the upcoming HBO series, The Idol, was also a favorite among paparazzi. Meanwhile, fashion icons Heidi Klum and Kate Beckinsale stunned in their respective outfits, attracting the attention of the flashes.
The Cannes jury, chaired by Swedish director Ruben Östlund, is composed of high-profile figures in the film industry. Among them are American actors Paul Dano and Brie Larson, Moroccan director Maryam Touzani, French actor Denis Ménochet, British-Zambian writer and director Rungano Nyoni, Afghan writer and director Atiq Rahmi, and French director and screenwriter Julia Ducournau.
South Korean actor Song Joong-Ki also caught the eye of the cameras with his casual look and undeniable charm. His film, Hwa-Ran (Hopeless), was presented during the festival.
Juliette Binoche, one of the most outstanding French actresses, graced the red carpet in her sleek outfit for the presentation of The Pot-au-Feu. She also attended the photocall for the film, along with director Tran Anh Hung, chef Pierre Gagnaire, and actor Benoit Magimel.
Finally, prominent Italian figures, including director Nanni Moretti, actress Margherita Buy, and writer Federica Pontremoli, were in attendance for the presentation of Il Sol Dell’Avvenire.
