Harry Potter is one of the most loved movies/books of all time. J.K. Rowling’s story has been turned into a cultural movement. Not long before the first installation of the movie came out, it became a sensation throughout the whole wide world. The characters, the visuals, the storyline, and everything in between impressed all kinds of audiences. As a result, the legacy of Harry Potter continues even after so many years of its first release.

While Harry Potter is full of characters, including the protagonists and antagonists, some characters deserve a separate recognition, and Delphini Diggory is one of them. This article covers everything about Delphini Diggory. Read it till the end to find out.

Who is Delphini Diggory?

Delphini Diggory is known by the nickname Delphi. She is a British half-blood Dark witch and is the daughter of Lord Voldemort and Bellatrix Lestrange. She is the only child of Lord Voldemort, and being what she is, Delphi is able to speak Parseltongue and became the only known living heir of Salazar Slytherin after the death of her father. She was likely imprisoned in Azkaban for the murder of Craig Bowker Jnr and for the misuse of an unauthorized Time-Turner in a failed attempt to bring back her father and his evil reign.

Delphi’s Introduction in Harry Potter

Delphi made her first appearance in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. She introduces herself as Amos’s niece and caretaker at St. Oswald’s Home for Old Witches and Wizards. When Albus plans to try to save her cousin, Cedric, she helps them retrieve the Time-Turner by changing the events of the Triwizard Tournament to make Cedric live. She grows closer to Albus, and as a result of which, Scorpius becomes suspicious of her. He even notices Delphi’s Augurey tattoo, which is a symbol of Voldemort’s government, in an alternate timeline where Lord Voldemort stays in power. Consequently, Delphi reveals that she lied about being Amos’s niece and says that she was raised by Death Eaters and is Lord Voldemort’s daughter.

Delphie uses Albus, Scorpius, and Time-Turner to try to fulfill a prophecy in the hope of creating a reality in which Cedric lives and Voldemort survives the Battle of Hogwarts. Albus and Scorpius try to stop her plan; however, she tries another trick of preventing Voldemort from attacking baby Harry so he doesn’t become weakened, and she and Voldemort rule the wizardly world together.

Albus and Scorpius seek help from Harry, Ron, Ginny, Hermione, and Draco to stop Delphi from executing her evil intentions. They vow to take her back to the present and let her spend the rest of her life in the wizard prison of Azkaban.

Why is Delphi a Diggory?

Many Potterheads often wonder why Delphi is a Diggory.

The answer is Delphi is not related to Amos Diggory. She confounded him and pretended to be his niece, thus using his last name to aid in her ruse. She is the daughter of Lord Voldemort and Bellatrix Lestrange, who places her birth before her mother’s death at the Battle of Hogwarts, which would have been something that Harry and his friends would have noticed.

What Kind of Personality Does Delphi Diggory Have?

Delphi appears to be an extremely powerful witch with a mysterious background. She has dark eyes that could pierce through anyone’s soul. She is a capable fighter who can take on even the most powerful adversaries with ease. Her other skills include negotiating impressively, because of which she can talk her way out even in the most challenging situations.

Delphi is a fearless and determined young woman who puts others before herself. Regardless of being surrounded by danger and evil forces, she remains focused on protecting those who cannot protect themselves from harm.
