From the beginning of his Showtime series, Dexter Morgan (played by Michael C. Hall), people were hooked on him. People couldn’t get enough of the man who works as a blood-spatter analyst daily and as a murderous vigilante who hunts down other killers by night when the show first aired in 2006. People still talk about how Dexter ended, even though the show stopped airing in 2013.

At the end of Dexter, his old friends thought he had died in a boat accident when he tried to start a new life in Argentina. We soon find out, though, that Dexter is alive and well and living in Oregon under a new name. The show left the door open for Dexter Morgan to come back in the future, and fans have been wondering if there will ever be a season 9 that will give us a real ending to Dexter’s story.

Fans should get ready to see Dexter kill again, as Showtime has brought the show back for a 10th season with 10 new episodes (via Deadline). Michael C. Hall and Clyde Phillips, in charge of the show, are both expected to return. Here’s what else we know about the revival so far.

Season 9 Cast of Dexter

The main cast members of Dexter have moved on to other things. Michael C. Hall, for example, had a small part in The Crown and was in the 2019 movie The Report with Adam Driver. Deadline says that Hall has said on the record that he would play the role that made him famous again if he had the chance, and it looks like this is the case.

So far, only Hall has been confirmed to return as a key cast member, but other performers may also be in this revival.

In the next season, we expect David Zayas to play Angel Batista again and C.S. Lee to play Vince Masuka again. Is Jennifer Carpenter going to play Debra Morgan again? In Dexter season 8, Debra Morgan died. Clyde Phillips, who ran the first four seasons of Dexter, says that Carpenter could come back to play her role in flashbacks, dreams, or memories when the show comes back.

“There is some room to do some magic with movies. He told Us Weekly about it. That’s all I have to say about it. Phillips hasn’t said if she’ll come back because he “can’t answer” that question right now.

Screen Rant says that John Cusack will give the new season some star power, making him the first confirmed new cast member since season 9 was announced.

Reports say that Cusack will play a character named Kurt, who sounds like an interesting possible victim for our title character, who is a bad guy.

The Hollywood Reporter released more interesting news about the cast on November 17, 2020. It said that legendary director Marcos Siega has officially signed on as an EP for the reboot.

He will be in charge of six of the planned episodes. Phillips and Siega have been working together for a long time. He was in charge of nine well-received episodes of Dexter during the show’s first eight seasons. His return should help Phillips reach his goal of making up to viewers who felt personally betrayed by the end of season 8.

After that, you’ll have to keep coming back to see what casting news comes out in the coming months. Since Showtime plans to start filming season 9 of Dexter in early 2021, confirmations about who will be in it should come sooner rather than later.

Dexter Season 9 Plot

In the middle of Hurricane Laura, Police Chief Miami Detective Dexter Morgan has been dead for ten years. However, his teenage son, Rudy Valenti (Jason Gedrick), discovers he is still alive when he gets a new identity after the storm.

According to what was told to The Hollywood Reporter, Season 8 was full of things that people will remember forever. He worked as a lumberjack for the next few years. Deb was in pain from living, so Dexter had her ashes scattered at sea. Dexter season 9 says that the aftermath of this event will be shown at the end of season 8.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter’s Top 5 podcast, Phillips said, “We’ll have to start over.” At this point, at least ten years will have gone by, and the programme will show that. When the show ends, it will end in a very different way from the original. It’s a great chance to write another book.
