Diablo 2: Resurrected will finally not be adapted to ultrawide monitors. This is because Blizzard Entertainment has conducted the relevant tests and found that running on 21: 9 screens presents game-breaking issues. Although the first technical alpha did allow it, in beta it was already limited to 19: 9, something that will remain in the final version of the remastering, as the company has explained in a new entry in the official forums.

Why have you discarded this option?
“In technical alpha, gamers with ultrawide hardware would see their full screen at 21: 9. However, during the test we identified limitations that affected these users and others. For example, the AI failed to perceive the player and triggered attacks ”, they explain. In addition, those who had this hardware had certain advantages, because they could lead many more monsters into battle than they intended with the game. “In a scenario where players were attacking monsters, those with a 21: 9 monitor could attack enemies in that extra space on the screen, but the monsters weren’t reacting.”
Blizzard confirms that “To protect the experience” of all and promote equality, those who play on an ultrawide monitor will have the possibility to play at 19: 9, with a vignette at each end of the screen. “We recognize that gamers who have spent a lot of money building their 21: 9 hardware” may be frustrated. Therefore, they commit to continue listening to feedback to explore possible solutions in the future.
The North American company has also taken advantage of thank the participation from all users who tried the game during the open beta.
Diablo 2 Resurrected will go on sale next September 23 en PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S y Nintendo Switch.
