Billboard’s Inaugural Latin Women in Music Event Set to Honor Latina Artists

Billboard’s first-ever Latin Women in Music event promises to be an exciting night full of surprises, motivational speeches, and well-deserved awards. The event aims to celebrate Latina artists, executives, and creatives who are working towards positive change, inclusion, and gender parity in the music industry. This year, the gala will honor seven Latina artists with different awards, including Shakira, Ana Gabriel, Emilia, Maria Becerra, Evaluate, Goyo, and Thalia.

Tributes and Presenters

The gala will honor Shakira with the first Woman of the Year award, Ana Gabriel with the Living Legend award, Emilia with the Rising Star Award, Maria Becerra with the Visionary Award, Evaluate with the Tradition and Future award, Goyo with the Change Agent Award, and Thalia with the Poderosa Global award. Confirmed presenters include Giselle Blondet, Chiky Bombom, Jessica Carrillo, Greeicy, Guaynaa, Ha*Ash, Lele Pons, Andrea Meza, Elena Rose, and Nicole Zignago.


Fans can expect to witness fascinating performances, including song premieres. The gala will feature Canadian artist JP Saxe, who will take the stage with Evaluna and Brazilian star Ludmilla, who will perform with Emilia.

The two-hour musical special, hosted by Ivy Queen and Jacqueline Bracamontes, will take place on Saturday, May 6, and will air on Sunday, May 7, at 9 pm ET exclusively on Telemundo and Peacock.
