Nintendo has officially announced that one of its titles for Android and iOS mobile devices will be dismissed forever in just a few months. Through a notice posted on their website, those in Kyoto have reported that Dr. Mario World will stop distributing medicines from next November. “Thanks for playing,” they say in the note. “The service will end on November 1, 2021 (Monday).”

In the rather brief statement, they added the following: “We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all those who have played since we started the service, the Jul 10, 2019”. Therefore, this puzzle title says goodbye more than two years after its premiere. The Japanese company has stressed that from today (April 28) it is no longer possible to buy diamonds.

All content will be inaccessible

Dr. Mario World includes a single player mode. Given that particularity, one may wonder if players will be able to continue accessing this content normally. However, Nintendo has already specified the opposite: it will not be possible to play any of its modes when the service is no longer available. “If you start Dr. Mario World after the service has ended a notification will appear on the screen which will indicate that it cannot be played. You will be able to visualize your history in Dr. Mario World Memories, a web page that will be available ”when the title says its last word.

This is not the only mobile video game that will stop working this year. Ubisoft recently announced that its free-to-play Tom Clancy’s Elite Squad has already been updated for the last time. Later in October, it will shut down its servers permanently. The study pointed out that they had tried to find solutions to maintain it, but after putting all the cards on the table they came to the conclusion that there was no possibility of refloating it.
