The time has come to decide the fate of Arrakis. Dune will take us to desert sands of this dangerous planet for an adventure in the scorching heat of the sun. His arrival is not without controversy, as the director Denis Villeneuve has had a tough dispute with WarnerMedia because the company has decided that all its premieres will reach theaters and on its HBO Max platform, although not in all territories.

The filmmaker, however, has ended up backing down and has said that “the enemy right now is the pandemic”, as he has collected Deadline. “It’s difficult for theater owners and it’s difficult for everyone.” Villeneuve recalled that they had to delay the film for a year due to the coronavirus.

The film’s story takes place on Arrakis, also known as Dune, a desert planet where the commodity that is most scarce is, of course, water. For this reason, the indigenous inhabitants use a system installed in their suits that allows them to recycle their body fluids to reconvert them into water.

The planet, ruled for generations by the Harkonnen family, is now under the umbrella of the House of Atreides. The emperor has ceded the exploitation of the spice reserves to this house, one of the most coveted elements in the galaxy, since it also works as a drug. How could it be otherwise, all this will lead to an internal and bloody fight.

The cast includes Timothée Chalamet (Call Me by Your Name), Rebecca Ferguson (Mission: Impossible – Fallout) and Oscar Isaac (Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker). Also featured are Zenda (Spider-Man: Homecoming) or Sharon Dundan-Brewster (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) and more.
