Good news for Ed Sheeran as he has been found not guilty in a trial accusing him of plagiarizing Marvin Gaye’s song Let’s Get It On. The federal court in Manhattan arrived at a unanimous verdict after ten sessions held in New York.

The British singer, who won two Grammy Awards for his song Thinking Out Loud, was delighted with the outcome and expressed his happiness to the media. He also mentioned his frustration with unsubstantiated claims such as this one going to court.

This is not the first time Ed Sheeran has been accused of infringing copyright, as he faced another legal battle in London last year which he won as well. However, this case was especially complicated as it coincided with the death of his grandmother who he dedicated his song Nancy Mulligan to.

Despite the legal battles, the singer remains popular with his audiences and is now embarking on a new tour this weekend to reconnect with his fans.
