The much-awaited Netflix series, Elite, released its sixth season on the 18th of November this year. The latest season brings back the focus on the students of Las Encinas, an elite Spanish school, and the drama and adventures surrounding the lives of its pupils.
Since the very beginning of its confirmation, this season has been touted as steamy and thrilling as its predecessors. The biggest highlight of the show is the apparent death of one of the students.
So, how did Elite Season 6 fare on the streaming platform? Did it win the hearts of the fans? Here is everything to know about the series.
What is the Plot of Elite?
Elite revolves around a group of teenagers and their turbulent relationships in a posh private school in Spain. The series depicts racial and class conflicts that result in disastrous outcomes for the students studying there. Besides the class conflicts, the makers have also tried to highlight the sexuality and fear of the eventual fallout among the students as they have to deal with the hateful orthodox settings. Suddenly, the lives of the pupils become much more complicated when some characters are murdered.
The series is created by Carlos Montero and Dario Madrona. The first season of Elite was released on the 5th of October, 2018. In October 2021, the OTT platform confirmed ordering a sixth season of the show. Such confirmation was made following the popularity of the show as even its fifth season was not released at that time.
When Did Elite Season 6 Come Out?
In September 2022, Netflix released an official statement about the confirmation of the sixth season. It also issued an official synopsis of the sixth season which reads as follows:
“After another student’s death, Las Encinas enters a new school year determined to cover up for its scandalous past. But conflicts continue as racism, sexism, domestic abuse, and homophobia run rampant in the halls of the prestigious institution. If those who run the school do not take action to root out these issues, the students are going to do it for them.”
Season 5 of Elite was released in April 2022, and it was quick for the makers to release the subsequent season in the same year. Interestingly, filming for season 6 started even before airing the fifth season.
Who is in the Cast of Elite Season 6?
While most of the members from the clan have moved on to other projects, some of the faces are likely to return from their previous season in the subsequent one. Here are the characters you will spot in the sixth installment.
- Carla Diaz as Ari
- Manu Rios as Patrick
- Martina Cariddi as Mencia
- Diego Martin and Benjamin
- Valentina Zenere as Isadora
- Andre Lamoglia as Ivan
- Carloto Cotta as Cruz
- Adam Nourou as Bilal
Besides this, the show will also include new faces that the audience would love to watch in the current season. These characters include the following:
- Alvaro de Juana as Didac
- Carmen Arrufat as Sara
- Ana Bokesa as Rocio
- Alex Pastrana as Raul
- Ander Puig as Nico
- Nadia Al Saidi as Sonia
Following whatever happened at the end of the fifth season, it might be tough to spot Itzan Escamilla on the show as Samuel while Claudia Salas (Rebeka), Georgino Amoros (Cayetana), and Pol Granch (Philipe) are also not likely to be a part of this season. Surprisingly, Omar Ayuso, too, will not be a part of this season, but as news is doing rounds, he may be back to reprise his role in the next season.
What Happened at the End of Season 5?
The ending of the fifth season shook everyone. The main action of this season not only centers on Armando’s death but also flashes toward the glimpses of Samuel’s body found floating in the pool.
The audience knows that Guzman killed Armando, though Samuel and Rebeka are covering things up. On the other hand, Benjamin convinces Samuel to confess to the police by promising his help, he later reneges after the latter gets arrested.
In the same matter of events, the police offer Samuel a deal – immunity if he can provide them evidence that the principal had some involvement in the shady data trafficking with Armando. After coaxing, Samuel somehow manages to get an incriminating SIM card; however, he gets into an altercation with Benjamin. He falls, knocks his head on the ground, and falls into the pool.
Patrick calls for help. When Omar and Rebeka arrive, they find their friend possibly dying. He blames Benjamin, who claims it was an accident.
What will happen in Season 6?
The sixth season picks up in the aftermath and reveals if Samuel lives or dies. If he dies, Benjamin could be arrested for killing his student, which should also have major implications for his kids – Mencia, Ari, and Patrick. It could also mean that a new principal will take over the school.

How did the Sixth Season Perform?
Elite Season 6 has gathered a mixed review from the audiences. While some fans have liked this show so much, for others, Elite has gotten a little overboard with all the chaos while still drifting away from the main plot.
That said, the performances of the actors have received accolades. Carla Diaz takes on more responsibility this season. She has showcased so many different emotions – from grief to anger to cold maturity and perfected all of them. Throughout the series, you will find her quite manipulative without being truly evil. Manu Rios and Andre Lamoglia take turns being the stable and troubled one in their relationship. They are brilliant during their turbulent journey as a couple.
Valentina Zenere does not improve upon her vibrant character. Her performance is a lot more subdued this season. The other characters on the show give decent performances in their respective roles.
The Good Things about Season 6
- Thankfully, the makers have toned down the partying and sex scenes throughout the sixth season, paying more attention to serious issues. Rape continues to be a topic of discussion in this season, while homosexuality remains a rarely explored subject.
- Season 6 is more mature than its predecessors, and it is a good sign of progression. The makers have tried to strike the right balance between what initially made the show famous and the slightly different direction it journeyed through.
- A thumbs up to the set designing and costume designing of the show as they stand out to look fabulous and grandiose. The party scenes showcased are extravagant, just like the parties of the elite.
- Elite Season 6 also boasts a good techno-inspired soundtrack which is a brilliant match for the overall vibe of the series.
The Bad Things about Season 6
- The characters, although show some growth, take the worst possible path to get there. Many of these characters come off as truly despicable and horrible examples of how younger audiences could be.
- The entire plot of season 6 appears to be very predictable. It seems that the makers have not been very open to change in depicting story.
- Throughout the beginning of the season, Samuel has been a central focus, and his death is not given desired attention as the focus has been shifted to other characters too. A lot many audiences believe that his story deserved a slightly better end.
Will Season 7 of Elite Happen?
Yes, Season 6 is not the end of the much-popular series. Just a few weeks before releasing the sixth season, the OTT giant announced that they are planning on the subsequent season. The next season will pick up right after the end of season 6, which featured a mysterious shooter who came to Las Encinas. While it is not known who the man is and who is hurt, several people might be looking for revenge based on what happened in the sixth season.
So, when will the seventh season of Elite be released?
Reportedly, the seventh season will drop between the spring and summer of 2023.
You can stream all six episodes of the series on Netflix.
