Elton John recently provided an update on a severe infection that has been affecting him throughout the summer, continuing to impact his health. The celebrated “Tiny Dancer” singer revealed this update via Instagram on Tuesday, September 3.
John, who is 77 years old, has been dealing with “limited vision” in one eye due to this persistent infection. He mentioned that the healing process is slow and will require some time before his vision fully returns. In his Instagram post, he expressed his appreciation for the team of medical professionals and his family, who have been supporting him during this challenging period.
“Over the summer, I’ve been dealing with a severe eye infection that has unfortunately left me with only limited vision in one eye. I am healing, but it’s an extremely slow process and it will take some time before sight returns to the impacted eye. I am so grateful for the excellent team of doctors and nurses and my family, who have taken such good care of me over the last several weeks.”
Despite the ongoing health issues, John ended his message on a positive note, thanking his fans for their support and expressing optimism about his recovery. According to
Variety, the “I’m Still Standing” artist is scheduled to attend the Toronto International Film Festival later this week. He will be present for the premiere of his new documentary, Elton John: Never Too Late, which is set to debut on September 6th.
His health update comes just over a year after a previous incident where the Rocket Man was briefly hospitalized in Nice, France following a fall. After undergoing a brief treatment and some check-ups, he was released in good health. However, he had not previously provided any updates on his well-being since then.
Elton John’s fans continue to send their love and well wishes, hoping for his speedy recovery and looking forward to the upcoming documentary.
