Eternals, the new and long-awaited movie Marvel Studios, has already been released in theaters, achieving a very uneven international box office with the presentation of this new although ancestral superhero group that will have a lot to say in the future of the UCM. So much so, that the film closes with two very promising post-credit scenes that, as usual, open new paths for upcoming Marvel Studios productions. Although one of them has left us a great mystery with a voice of a character whose identity was not known; up to now. It goes without saying that from the next paragraph there will be spoilers sobre Eternals and said post-credit scene.
Mystery Solved by Director Chloé Zhao
Thus, the second post-credit scene from Eternals shows us Dane Whitman, character played by Kit Harington (Game of Thrones), opening a large old wooden box that has been in his family for generations. When you open it, you discover the ebony sword, a weapon that, when wielded, turns its owner into the Black knight (Black Knight), a character from Marvel comics who has been part of the Avengers and is characterized by being an experienced warrior and a master of the sword.
Just as Whitman approaches the sword, a mysterious voice is heard that seems to come from the shadows of that very room and that asks him if that is really what he wants to do. With the doubt of knowing who that voice belongs to, the director herself Chloe Zhao has solved the mystery securing that it is about the voice of Blade, the Marvel vampire slayer who will soon return to the cinema with the actor Mahershala Ali as part of the MCU, finally making his official debut in Eternals albeit as a cameo.
Apparently not even Kit Harington himself I knew about said cameo until a few weeks before the theatrical release of Eternals: “I knew the phrase that was going to be said, because it was said out loud and it was in the script they gave me. I found out it was Mahershala’s voice only three weeks ago. Chloé texted me saying that’s what they were going to do. Hearing it made me very excited. It is one of my favorite actors of the moment, ”says Harington.
In addition, the actor acknowledges that he knew that they were going to cross the Black Knight with Blade, although he did not know how or when. “I was aware that there was going to be some kind of crossover, from previous conversations, ”says the actor, although he assures that he does not know anything about the future of both characters. “I don’t know what the future is, and I have no idea. There is nothing written. They haven’t told me anything. I have no clue. Really. It’s fun, right? When you say these things, people are like, ‘You do! You know!’. And i have no ideaHarington concludes.
