Eternals will explore the origins of the MCU long before Thanos: new official images

Eternals, the next movie by Marvel Studios, opens in theaters next November 5, 2021 and therefore Total Film magazine (via Games Radar) has published a new report with exclusive material, such as new images of its protagonists or new statements of its director, Chloe Zhao, Oscar winner for Nomadland. But let’s start with the new exclusive images from Total Film, in which we can see Richard Madden as Ikaris, to Gemma Chan like Sersi, another image with Gemma Chan herself alongside Kumail Nanjiani like Kingo and Lia McHugh as Sprite and a photograph from the film set in which Gemma Chan appears again with the director Chloe Zhao.

On the other hand, the renowned filmmaker has shared new statements in which she delves into the plot, in which the UCM from its origins, long before the appearance of Thanos with the Celestials as the central axis of his development: “What excited me is the idea of ​​going back in time, and exploring it before Thanos was born, before anyone was born. Where does the MCU go back in time? And that brings us to the mythology of the Celestials. Anything that involves Celestials it’s going to have a large-scale level of complication, ”says Zhao.

In addition, the director assures that the concept for which the Eternals will be explained much better in the film did not interfere in the global crisis against Thanos, something that was already mentioned in the movie trailer: “Not only why, but how complicated it made them feel not to interfere. We explore that. You will see it in the movie. The Eternals were instructed not to interfere in any human conflict unless the Deviants were involved. There is a reason why this is so.
