The main program of the 24th European Police Congress ended with the traditional round of state interior ministers in Berlin. Andreas Geisel (Berlin), Joachim Herrmann (Bavaria), Michael Stübgen (Brandenburg) and Roland Wöller (Saxony) would like significant investments in cybersecurity and the protection of critical infrastructures to play an important role in the upcoming coalition agreement of the next federal government.
A lot of what has to be done against hacker attacks cannot be done by individual federal states and their police forces, said the CSU politician Joachim Herrmann. Previously, BSI President Arne Schönbohm had encouraged the audience from very different police departments. “The more we understand about cyber attacks, the less you have to do in your work. That’s what I stand for.”
The one and a half day 24. European Police Congress des Authority mirror was one of the first congresses to be held again in the real congress life according to the G2 rule with vaccinated and recovered people. Many visitors were happy not to have to click into a stream.
AI and cybercrime
The main topics of the congress were the use of artificial intelligence in investigative work and the handling of cybercrime, from image evaluation to the determination of geolocal data. The police experts were also inspired by other topics.

Here the drones fly in BVLOS mode, i.e. out of sight of the pilots, who each control 8 to 20 drones.
Not all journalists were admitted, here the publisher made use of its house rights. By no means all of the companies that wanted to exhibit got their chance in the Berlin Congress Center.
