Evernote receives task management directly in the notes as part of an update. Tasks can be sorted according to notes, due dates or your own markers – and of course ticked off. Details can be written into the note as text as usual, and other Evernote functions such as reminders, synchronization between clients or assigning users are available as usual. At the start, the tasks are in a test phase.
The home start screen introduced in January is now also available for the apps for Android and iOS. It should summarize all information that is important for the user. Under Windows and macOS, entries on the scratchpad can be converted into a note with a key combination.
In addition, the developers have revised the search. It should now automatically recognize variations of the terms and thus include typing errors or different punctuation in the search. In addition, Evernote is reintroducing a number of previously deleted functions, including importing directories under macOS and exporting notes as ENEX or HTML files.
Especially for companies, Evernote introduces that once shared notebooks no longer have to be manually shared with colleagues from the same company – every user can join automatically. In addition, the search now not only searches through your own notes, but also those of other users who have shared them with you.
All details about the update can be found in the Evernote blog post.
