Kitty Softpaws, Puss’s sidekick and love interest from the previous film, will join him in the next adventure, as will Perro, the duo’s canine companion.

Harvey Guillén (Reacher) has joined the franchise’s voice cast as Kitty and Puss’ new canine companion Perro. In contrast, Florence Pugh (Black Widow), Olivia Colman (The Lost Daughter), Samson Kayo (Sliced), and Wagner Moura (Narcos) have also signed on to portray unnamed roles.

In unspecified roles, Anthony Mendez (Jane the Virgin), John Mulaney (Big Mouth), Da’Vine Joy Randolph (Trolls), and Ray Winstone (Black Widow) have joined the cast.

The anticipated release date for this fifth picture has been moved back from 2018 to 2022, with no word from DreamWorks on whether or not it will ever happen. Cameron Diaz is said to be reprising her role as Princess Fiona in the fifth film, although the retired actress has yet to clarify.
