+ Why Halston’s family disapproves of the series
Before the official release of the fiction, Halston’s niece, Lesley Frowick, he told Harpers Bazaar that no one from Netflix had contacted the family to start production. Another of his nieces, Brook Drummond, was more poignant: “Anyone interested in seeing Halston, please understand that the family has not been consulted and it is an unauthorized viewing.”.
In his episodes we see the man in the middle of a life of scandals and lack of control, something that his relatives did not like to see. Drummond added: “He was loved by all and this performance is frankly rubbish. His impact was immeasurable and I hope people remember him that way and sustain him instead of reveling in the tabloid fiction of his life.”.
