Loki Wednesday on the streaming service! Disney+! The long-awaited episode 6 of the series of the villain most loved by fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Unsurprisingly, we had more exciting moments and reveals that set the stage for Phase 4 of the franchise. Didn’t you understand what happened? Here the explanation!

“For All Time. Always” the chapter that arrived on the platform at dawn from Latin America was called. “Time runs out in the season finale that finds Loki and Sylvie on a date with destiny”, is the synopsis that advanced a new installment of the program, which generated various reactions among fans on social networks.

We previously saw that Mobius returned to TVA with the aim of revealing the whole truth to his companions and face Ravonna Renslayer, as well as we had the triumph of the Lokis before Alioth, who guarded the home of the person who was behind it all. Who is it? While at no point does he say so, it appears to be a friendly version of Kang the Conqueror, who will have his place in the MCU in the film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantimania.

This person confesses that he is the only survivor of the multiversal war that broke out when one of its variants discovered that he could control the universe. Apparently, The Temporal Variation Authority was created with the objective of managing the timeline which was smashed in the 31st century, where Kang makes his appearance, who at the end of it all has his own statue in the VAT, replacing the Guardians of Time.

The problem here is that Loki believes him, but Sylvie doesn’t, and she returns it to TVA after a confrontation and ends up killing Kang o “He Who Remains”, as it is also named. The consequence of this act is mainly that branches the timeline in a way never seen before and, apparently, we will have many versions of Kang, according to whether his words are finally true.

Loki came to TVA and tries to warn Mobius and Hunter B-15 what happened and the threat that is coming, but they don’t remember. Why? The first answer is that was sent to a completely different timeline from the agency, in which Kang is the one who controls everything and not the Guardians of Time, and that is why his statue is the one that appears in the establishment.

+ What does the end mean?

As the timeline branched out, and with upcoming Marvel Studios projects in mind, everything leads us to certain places. In the first instance it will lead us to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which will premiere in March 2022, a film that will have a strong connection with WandaVision and we will see Scarlet Witch in search of her children, after hearing them scream in another reality.

It also opens the doors to the animated series What If…? that will arrive on the platform Disney+ the August 11th, where we will see a new MCU with stories that do not belong to the original universe and will show us scenarios that are far from conventional continuity. And of course, the Loki show has likely brought down the walls of reality between the Spider-Man for the third superhero tape with the three versions of Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.

+ Post-credits scene

Although for some the end of the episode was abrupt for not closing certain issues that will be seen in the MCU projects mentioned above, the truth is that there is an answer that few expected: Loki will have a second season. It remains to know if part 2 of the series will continue “in the new reality” of the God of Deception, what will happen to Sylvie and where did Judge Renslayer go?.
