Exploring the Hedonism of Defected Croatia’s House Music Scene

Five nights. Four days. Three stages. A whole lot of house music.

Last weekend, Defected Records rolled out an impressive lineup of DJs, producers, and performers to celebrate its eighth edition of the international destination house music festival, Defected Croatia. This festival has always been a favorite among many because each year it transforms into a mid-summer paradise for house music enthusiasts.

Set along Tisno’s stunning Adriatic coast, Defected Croatia gathered 5,000 global house music fans. The atmosphere was inclusive, filled with dance music legends and fan favorites. Over 80 artists graced the event, including DJ Holographic, Hannah Wants, Honey Dijon, Le Chev, LP Giobbi, Natasha Diggs, Purple Disco Machine, Sam Divine, SG Lewis, Todd Edwards, and many others. Three stages were alive with activity, hosting parties that lasted from the sun-drenched days through the illuminated nights.

The daily boat parties and wellness programming, featuring yoga classes and mindfulness sessions, set this festival apart from others. It highlighted that, although the United States boasts a vibrant festival scene, these well-curated European events are a must-attend.

But the festival’s allure isn’t confined to its stellar programming. Defected Croatia embodies the ethos of Defected Records: “In Our House, We Are All Equal.” The dance floor became a melting pot where people coexisted in the moment. That’s the true magic of these gatherings.
