The first advance of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has already been published, and anticipates one of the appearances of Wanda Maximoff (Scarlet Witch), as well as another by Barón Mordo, and even anticipates what appears to be the appearance of a corrupt doppelganger of Doctor Strange himself.
Revealed and Twitter shortly after the end of Marvel’s Hawkeye series, this preview marks the first preview for the next premiere of the UCM, which will hit theaters next May 6, 2022.
Unsurprisingly, the trailer offers few details, leaving almost everything to mystery, but it seems his meddling with the multiverse has caused Strange some serious trouble. In the trailer we see glimpses of a marriage scene with Dr. Christine Palmer (played by Rachel McAdams), as well as a scene with a devastated New York on the horizon. We can even see a short scene with a squid and eye-shaped monster, which we think might be Shuma-Gorath. You can see the teaser for yourselves below:
It is confirmed that several characters hinted in other projects from the UCM will also appear. As expected after the post-credits scene at the end of Scarlet Witch and Vision, Wanda Maximoff appears (played by Elisabeth Olson), while actor Chiwetel Ejiofor returns as a Baron Mordo seemingly more evil, as the very post-credits scene of the original Doctor Strange movie hints at.
On the other hand, the first movie poster has been released, and this seems to indicate that Wanda will also be an important part of it. You can see it below these lines:
Going back to that possibly corrupted version of Doctor Strange, it tells Stephen that “things got out of control”, while he listens to him totally puzzled. Also, the character we see in the trailer has a resemblance to the corrupted Strange that appears in Episode 4 of What would happen if…? Anyway, right now we don’t know if it’s the same character or not.
