Foxconn could install an electric vehicle plant in Wisconsin or Mexico

The chairman of Apple Inc’s (NASDAQ: AAPL ) main supplier Foxconn (TW: 2354 ) said on Tuesday that its plant in the U.S. state of Wisconsin was a potential site for making electric vehicles, but he added that Mexico was another possible place.

Asked by reporters in Taipei if the company would produce a car with Apple, chairman Liu Young-way said it was speculation.

Taiwan-based Foxconn, formally named Hon Hai Precision Industry (TW: 2317 ) Co Ltd, is the world’s largest contract electronics manufacturer.
