Every vote will count next week when the United Nations General Assembly meets to vote on a resolution condemning Russia’s annexation of Ukrainian territories, Germany’s foreign minister said on Friday. Annalena Baerbock.

The international community must “make it clear to Russia that these areas belong to Ukraine,” Baerbock said in Berlin after talks with his Pakistani counterpart.

Ukraine and its allies have denounced the votes in Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhia as illegal and coercive.

The Western-drafted UN General Assembly resolution would condemn Russia’s “alleged illegal referendums” and “illegal annexation attempt” of the areas where it has been voted.
