Gerry Turner: The First Golden Bachelor

It’s never too late to find love, and Gerry Turner is ready to prove it! ABC announced today that the charming 71-year-old patriarch from Indiana is the network’s first Golden Bachelor, showcasing that love stories, like so many other things, only get better with age. Turner will begin handing out roses when ‘The Golden Bachelor’ premieres this fall.

Gerry Turner, a retired restaurateur and doting father and grandfather, lives in his dream house on a beautiful lake in Indiana. He’s often busy hosting barbecues, playing pickleball, cheering on his favorite Chicago sports teams, four-wheeling, and spending time with friends and family at restaurants and local haunts.

Turner’s love story began when he married his high school sweetheart, Toni, in 1974. They lived a full and happy life together, raising two daughters, Angie and Jenny, and later welcoming two granddaughters, Charlee and Payton. However, tragedy struck in 2017 when Toni suddenly fell ill and passed away.

After six years of grieving and with the support of his family, Turner is ready to put himself out there and find a love that will stand the test of time in his golden years. His daughters, Angie and Jenny, encouraged him to sign up for ‘The Golden Bachelor,’ and they are fully supportive of his journey to find love again.

‘The Golden Bachelor’ is a new spinoff of the popular ‘Bachelor’ franchise, focusing on love stories for the golden years. The show will feature a group of women who have a lifetime of experience, living through love, loss, and laughter, hoping to find a spark that ignites a future full of endless possibilities. Hosted by Jesse Palmer, the series follows Turner as he embarks on a second chance at love.

Gerry Turner is described as a hopeless romantic, and he is looking for a partner who shares his high energy and love for sports. He enjoys hosting barbecues, playing pickleball, and cheering on his favorite Chicago sports teams. Turner is open to the idea of getting married again and believes that love knows no age.

‘The Golden Bachelor’ will premiere this fall on ABC, and episodes will be available for streaming on Hulu the day after they air. The show is produced by Warner Bros. Unscripted Television in association with Warner Horizon, with Claire Freeland, Jason Ehrlich, Bennett Graebner, and Andrew Frank serving as executive producers.

Get ready to join Gerry Turner on his journey to find love in his golden years. ‘The Golden Bachelor’ promises to be a heartwarming and inspiring show that proves that love is timeless.
