Argentine actress Delfina Chaves has been chosen to portray Queen Máxima Zorreguieta in a series based on the Dutch queen’s life. The series is being produced by Dutch company Videoland and is based on the book Patria, the first years of Máxima Zorreguieta by journalist Marcia Luyten. The story begins in Seville in 1999 where the couple met and will also cover some part of Máxima’s life in Argentina. Chaves, who played Lucía Morel in the first season of Argentina, land of love and revenge, has been sharing glimpses of her time filming the series in New York on social media.

After finishing the recordings in Amsterdam, Chaves moved to New York to continue filming the series. She temporarily left Argentina and moved to the Netherlands, where she experienced a dramatic moment when she suffered pain in her sciatic nerve and had to go to a pharmacy, where she struggled with the language barrier. She has also had to say goodbye to her brown hair and adopted Zorreguieta’s blonde hair color for the role.

Chaves has been sharing behind-the-scenes shots of the filming of the series including images of the places she visited in New York such as the Financial District, Bedford Avenue subway station in Brooklyn and the Greenwich Village area. In one post, she announced the start of filming in New York and shared a selfie holding the scripts. Chaves has received support from her colleagues in the media and her followers on social media.

The series is expected to consist of six episodes of 50 minutes each. No exact date has been specified for the release of the series.
