We are approaching the last months of the year, where we find one of the most anticipated releases: Spider-Man: No Way Home, dated December 17. The Marvel Cinematic Universe film has been commented on for some time for having the multiverse and for the rumors of a possible crossover with previous versions of the character, such as that of Andrew Garfield. Nevertheless, the actor just denied everything.
At the end of 2020, when the production of the film was beginning, several well-known portals and journalists began to recount the great possibilities of the Spider-Verse, so we would also have the presence of Tobey Maguire. This was generated from the first confirmations of the cast, Jamie Foxx as Electro and Alfred Molina as Doctor Octopus, just as we saw in the trailer.
As fans will remember, Foxx’s Electro was the main villain of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, released in 2014, where Garfield played Peter Parker for the second time. In the trailer we saw that Doctor Strange opens the multiverse, so the possibility of having a meeting with each version of the superhero grew more and more, until today. Finally, Andrew spoke and denied it completely.
In an interview with the medium Variety, the interpreter said: “I understand why people are freaking out about the concept of that because I’m a fan too. You can’t help but imagine scenes and moments of ‘Oh my God’, what the fuck would it be if they did that? ‘”. Then he assured: “But it is important for me to say publicly that I am not aware that I am going to be involved in this. But I know that I will not be able to say anything that convinces anyone that I do not know what is happening.”.
He also added that he is at a difficult crossroads: “No matter what I say, I’m screwed. Either it’s going to be really disappointing for people or it’s going to be very exciting.”. In this way, Andrew Garfield again denied participation in Spider-Man: No Way Home, just as he did in May of this year, when he claimed not to receive any calls from Kevin Feige and the MCU. What do you think?
